Hey everyone, I wanted to share a little puzzle adventure I had today. So, I’m a big fan of crossword puzzles, you know, the kind you find in the Sunday paper? Well, today’s puzzle had me stumped for a bit. There was this one clue, “oust,” and I just couldn’t figure it out.
First, I grabbed my phone and started searching online. I typed in “oust crossword clue” and scrolled through a bunch of different websites. One of them mentioned that the answer could be four, five, or six letters long. It’s a start, right?
Then I found another site that listed some common answers. There were words like “BUMP,” “EXPEL,” “EVICT,” “EJECT,” and “DEPOSE.”
- BUMP – 4 letters
- EXPEL – 5 letters
- EVICT – 5 letters
- EJECT – 5 letters
- DEPOSE – 6 letters
I tried fitting each of those words into the puzzle, but none of them seemed to work with the other clues I had already solved.
I even stumbled upon a website that was talking about cryptic crosswords. Now those are a whole different beast! They had a tutorial, but I decided that was a bit too advanced for me right now. I just wanted to solve this one clue.
After a while, I went back to the original clue, “oust.” I thought about what it means, and remembered that it’s like kicking someone out, or removing them from a position. And then, it hit me! The answer was staring me right in the face.
Aha Moment!
I figured out that the answer with six letters was “DEPOSE”. It fit perfectly with the other clues, and it made sense with the definition of “oust.”
It was such a satisfying feeling to finally crack the code. I mean I live in CAPE COD, this place is full of this kind of puzzles, it’s not like it’s my first time. Anyway, I just wanted to share my little crossword victory with you all. Maybe it’ll inspire you to try out a puzzle sometime. They’re a fun way to keep your brain sharp!
