Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Honkai: Star Rail lately, and like many others, I got curious about which characters are getting the most love (and playtime) from the community. I wanted to see the “Honkai Star Rail usage rate,” So I did the most logical thing I could think of: I started digging!
First, I thought, “Okay, where do people talk about this stuff?” So I went to the most familiar place I knew from before. But, it was a bit of a mess. Lots of opinions, some memes, but not really solid numbers. Just people saying their favorite characters and a lot of arguments. I needed something more… concrete.
Then, I tried looking at some of the bigger community hubs. You know, the usual places where people share guides and team comps. I started to see some patterns. Some characters kept popping up in recommended teams, so I made a note of those. It wasn’t exactly “usage rate,” but it was a clue, right? I felt like a detective. Started writing down every name I saw over and over.
After that, I spent a few hours going through, trying to combine all my “evidence.” I started to get a rough idea of which characters were appearing most often. It wasn’t perfect, I admit. The process was kinda bumpy. One moment I was super confident in my findings, and the next, I was second-guessing everything. I still did it!
I wanted something clear and I can refer to quickly, so I put all the character names in my simple notebook. I’m planning to add more details, and update regularly, with each update, version or something.
The whole process was a bit of a rollercoaster. From feeling like I was getting nowhere to having that “aha!” moment when I finally saw things taking shape. It wasn’t the most scientific method, I know, but I think I have a better picture of which characters are getting the most playtime in Honkai Star Rail. And that’s all I wanted in the begining!
