So, I was digging through an old box in the garage the other day. You know how it goes, looking for one thing, end up finding a bunch of other stuff you forgot you even had. Anyway, tucked away in a smaller container with some old keys and buttons, I found this little thing.

Discovering the Charm
It was an Atlanta Braves charm. Pretty small, maybe about the size of a nickel. Looked like some kind of metal, maybe brass or something similar? Hard to tell, it’s got that aged look now. It has the classic Braves tomahawk logo on it, kinda faded but you can definitely tell what it is. Simple design, nothing too flashy.
I picked it up and just stared at it for a minute. Took me right back. My dad got this for me, must have been years ago. He wasn’t a huge collector or anything, but he knew I followed the Braves like crazy back then. He probably picked it up at a game we went to, or maybe just saw it somewhere and thought of me.
What I Did With It
I remember I put it on a zipper pull on my old backpack for a long time. Felt like it was good luck, especially during the playoffs. Don’t know if it actually worked, but hey, superstitions are part of being a fan, right? That backpack is long gone, so the charm must have fallen off at some point and ended up in this box.
- Cleaned it up a bit with a soft cloth. Didn’t want to scrub too hard and ruin the old look.
- Thought about where to put it now. A keychain? Maybe just keep it on my desk?
- Decided for now just to put it in a small dish on my dresser where I keep loose change and stuff.
Finding it again was pretty cool. It’s not worth anything, I’m sure, but it’s neat. Just a small piece of metal, but it made me think about all those games watched, the wins, the losses. Mostly just reminded me of my dad, which was nice.
It’s funny how little things like that can just instantly transport you back. Definitely holding onto this little piece of history. Go Braves!
