Okay, so I’ve been messing around with these Evan Carter projections, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a head-scratcher. This guy, Evan Carter, he’s with the Texas Rangers. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s the deal with his stats for the upcoming season.
First, I started digging around for some basic info on him. I found all sorts of stuff – expert rankings, daily and weekly projections, the whole nine yards. Some of these projections, though, they just seem off.
Then, I went to look at the actual numbers. I pulled up his stats from last year and the projections for this year. Here’s what I saw:
- 2023: This guy played 23 games, had 62 at-bats, scored 15 runs, hit 5 homers, and had 12 RBIs. His batting average was .306. Not bad, right?
- 2024 (projected): Now, they’re saying he’ll play 45 games, with 144 at-bats. They’ve got him down for 23 runs, 5 homers, and only 15 RBIs. And his batting average? A measly .188. What?
I spent hours on this, checking different sources, trying to make sense of it all. I even looked at some fancy Statcast data – you know, exit velocity, launch angle, all that stuff.
So, I kept at it, comparing the projections to his past performance. I mean, the dude had a .306 average last year! How do you go from that to .188? It just doesn’t add up.
I even tried to find some news or articles that might explain this huge drop. Maybe he got injured? Maybe there’s some drama with the team? Nothing. I found nothing that made sense as to why these projections are so low.
Finally, I started to piece together what I think is going on. These projections seem to be heavily focused on him playing against both right-handed and left-handed pitchers. They’re saying he has some kind of platoon value, which, I guess, means he’s better against one type of pitcher than the other. But still, a .188 average? Come on!
After all this digging, I’m still not 100% sure what to make of these Evan Carter projections. They just seem way too low. Maybe the experts know something I don’t, but based on what I’ve seen, I wouldn’t be surprised if he outperforms these numbers by a mile. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how the season plays out. But for now, I’m taking these projections with a huge grain of salt.
