Alright folks, lemme tell you about this crazy thing I’ve been tinkering with – a Street Fighter collab! Yeah, you heard right. Think pixelated punches and Hadoukens, all mashed up in my little project.
It all started with me just messing around, right? I was staring at my screen, thinking, “What if…?” And then BOOM, the idea hit me. Street Fighter characters, but in my style. So, I grabbed my usual tools and jumped right in.
First things first, I needed sprites. I spent hours digging around, trying to find the perfect ones. Some were too small, others were too blurry. Finally, I found a decent set and started chopping them up. Pixel by pixel, I cleaned them up, resized them, and got them ready to be animated.
Next up was the animation. This was the real grind. I went frame by frame, tweaking each one, making sure the punches looked snappy and the kicks had some oomph. I even tried to recreate some of the classic moves, like Ryu’s Hadoken and Ken’s Shoryuken. Let me tell you, getting those fireballs to look right was a pain!
Then came the background. I didn’t want to just slap a plain color on there, so I decided to create a little stage. I went for a classic urban setting, with graffiti and neon signs. It took a while, but I think it adds a nice touch.
After the visuals were done, it was time for the sound effects. I scoured the internet for the iconic Street Fighter sounds – the punches, the kicks, the grunts. I even threw in the classic “Hadoken!” shout. It really brought the whole thing to life.
Putting it all together was a bit of a headache, I won’t lie. I had to wrangle the animations, the sound effects, and the background into one cohesive thing. There were plenty of bugs and glitches along the way, but I slowly but surely squashed them all.
Finally, after days (maybe weeks?) of work, it was done! My Street Fighter collab was alive. Seeing those pixelated fighters duke it out on my screen was incredibly satisfying.
It’s not perfect, of course. There are still some rough edges, and I’m sure there are things I could improve. But for now, I’m just happy to have created something cool and unique.
