Okay, so I got thinking about The Undertaker’s WrestleMania record the other day. It just popped into my head, maybe because Mania season always stirs up those old memories, you know? It wasn’t like I planned some deep dive, just started reminiscing.

First thing I did was just try and remember the start of it all. Who was the first one? Took me a second, but then it clicked – Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka. Way back. Then I kinda mentally scrolled through the early years. Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, Giant González… gosh, that González match was something else, not exactly a classic, huh?

Then I actually grabbed my tablet, figured I’d get the list right. I started jotting them down, just going year by year. It’s funny how you forget some, but others are crystal clear.

Building the Legend

Seeing the names pile up was kinda wild. Diesel, Sid, Kane (twice!), Ric Flair… It wasn’t really called ‘The Streak’ right away, not with a capital ‘T’. It just sort of… happened. Then, somewhere along the line, maybe after the Randy Orton or Mark Henry matches, it became THE thing at WrestleMania.

Every year, the question wasn’t just if Taker would win, but how, and who would be the next guy to try and break it. The entrances got bigger, the matches felt more important. I remember thinking:

  • Shawn Michaels I: Incredible. Thought maybe HBK could do it.
  • Shawn Michaels II: Career vs Streak. Even more intense.
  • Triple H (Hell in a Cell): Man, that felt like the end of an era with HBK as ref.
  • CM Punk: That was a great match too, felt like Punk had a real shot.

Each year, you’d convince yourself, ‘Okay, this time, maybe…’ But he always found a way. It was just part of the Mania magic.

The End of an Era

And then… Brock Lesnar. WrestleMania 30. I remember watching it live. When the ref’s hand hit the mat for the third time… silence. Just pure shock. I couldn’t believe it. Nobody could. Seeing that ’21-1′ graphic? Surreal. Honestly, it felt like a piece of wrestling history just evaporated right there. Took a long time to process that one.

After the Streak

He still came back, though. Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell (which was nuts), Roman Reigns… that loss felt different, like a passing of the torch maybe? And then John Cena, which was surprisingly quick.

His last one, the Boneyard Match against AJ Styles, was totally different. Cinematic, weird, but kinda fitting? A strange endnote to such a legendary Mania run.

So yeah, just spent some time going through it all again. From Snuka to Styles. What a run. 25 wins and 2 losses. Doesn’t matter how you feel about wrestling, you gotta respect that record and the stories told along the way. It was quite the journey to follow as a fan.
