(Lovecraft, H. P.) Bradofsky, Hyman, ed LOVECRAFT CONTRIBUTIONS AS FOUND IN AN EXTENSIVE RUN OF BRADOFSKY'S THE CALIFORNIAN Los Angeles 1933+ 14 issues. Either caption title or paper covers. Vg. Vol I #1 Summer 1933; Vol I #3 Winter 1933; Vol I #4 Spring 1934; 1934, Vol II, #1-2, 4; Vol III #4; Vol IV #3-4; Vol V #1-3; Vol VI #1,4. Associated with the National Amateur Press Association and the United Amateur Press Association, one Californian offers several related articles. Articles or other writing by Lovecraft appear in three issues including one on Poe, one on Modernism, a review, 25 letters and 6 poems while a later issue features a retrospective Lovecraft obituary. The Thompsons, in Official Guide to Science Fiction say Lovecraft was "generally regarded as the most influential fantasy writer since Edgar Allen Poe." Also in the last issue is a 30 p. tribute to Edith Dowe Miniter a frequent contributor. Places of publication include Pomona (?), (all Calif), Roanoke VA (!), and Western Springs IL. This is a scarce periodical with OCLC locating issues at four lib (9/13). Fourteen issues, and this periodical not listed in Union List of Seials. (5901982035)
