2 Collection of about 150 POST CARDS issued during World War II.

Largely from all over east coast, but some from middle west. About 130 to Somerville, MA & twenty to Burlington, NC. Well above half are the "free" frank soldier-sent cards from all over U.S. Also some from Nebraska to Massachusetts. A few cards in Greek language. I believe these are all same family but the last name suffered from mis-spelling and poor calligraphy: Meletiou, Magrokanis, Maories, etc. The young lady who received these cards had several admirers. The family sent cards, also. From the addresses one can trace her migration from MA to NC. where she seems to have married into a restaurant family. (5478081756)

20 Germany Propaganda Certificate
Berlin 1939 11 x 8" bdsde
"In the name of the German People I confer on ________ the premier rank of the Cross of Honor of German Motherhood. Der Fuhrer." These were prepared for delivery to the women who delivered for the Fatherland new infants for future cannon fodder. The constipated eagle seal ptd lower left. A ptd signature the right bottom leaves the reader unsure as to whether that official supervised the proper impregnation or certified to the bouncing baby boy's birth. On a fairly fragile paper that will deteriorate long before the memory of the evil intent they represent vanishes. Lower free left corner chipped, not affecting seal. Each has the mother's name, her maiden name, & place of birth. Names include Knorr, Knuge, Krug, Kruger, Ludwig, Meer, and Wollensak. Guaranteed authentic. Note printed signatures. Military. Travel.
