My colleague, John Thomson, spotted the second tune for its importance to trans-continental transportation, "The Pacific Railroad", dated May 10, 1869. This Root is likely the front half of Root and Cady, publishers of nearly half the 1860's music west of the Alleghenies. ANTE FIRE IMPRINTS 1584. OCLC locates only two copies in California.
