One of those fine young men (Baptist Pastor) who die too soon (I only knew one person who died too late: rascal's still polluting this earth!). Moffett was the nephew of John R. (1987) c.100pp. Ed. by Julia Davis Adams, these letters by a Clarksburg, VA/WV woman describe her life as a Baptist missionary to China. Extending from 1857-1879, the correspondence between two very fond friends shows the agony of indecision, shares the death of a husband & a child, and makes the reader a bit richer for the reading. He also began, largely in Rolla, Missouri, to write articles for Gospel papers, dealing w/various Bible subjects collected here. Some credit him as a Protestant scholar of Roman Catholicism.
