im Presgraves has been buying and selling books for over forty years,
most actively since 1965. For a long time, sales were by private
quotation, but in the early 70s catalogues were begun and now about 500
catalogues exist to identify his book judgment. Customers include
national libraries in both hemispheres as well as most U.S. State
libraries and esteemed national collections such as the Smithsonian
Institution and the Winterthur Museum. Presgraves, together with his staff with nearly 40 years
experience, and a 3000-title reference collection assist those who wish

Appraisal services have been provided for church
archives, museums, college libraries, private libraries, philanthropic
foundations, and individuals. He has developed a no-risk appraisal
procedure, available upon request. A participant in national auctions,
he maintains an active knowledge of current price trends and values.

Mr. Presgraves has been an elected member of the
Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) since 1978. He
helped found the Southeast Chapter and served as President. He also has
served on the Board of Governors of ABAA. He also is retired from
membership in NADA, associate membership in the SAA, and the Chamber of
Commerce. |
